$LIST doesn't work in digest fronters

The subject about says it.  Under 1.94.4, the $LIST keyword works 
fine in footers for normal lists, but in a digest fronter, it doesn't.  I don't 
remember seeing this anywhere, and the config file boilerplate says it 
does (as you'd expect).  Is this a bug? (The only change I've made to mj 
is the patch that removes the footers from each email in the digest; 
*that* works fine!)  (Software is Linux RH 5.1, perl 5.004_04; 
everything else works fine.)
