Hi Folks,
I've just discovered that Pine 4.05 seems to have a bug in its handling of
>From headers during export operations - that causes real problems when
running archive2.pl on a folder full of messages. Here's an example:
>From ccn@shore.net Mon Oct 12 00:15:36 1998
Date: Fri, 4 Sep 1998 11:45:56 -0400 (EDT)
From: CCN <ccn@shore.net>
To: rciville@civicnet.org
Cc: mfidelman@civicnet.org
Subject: changes to secure server
note that the Unix From line, inserted during export, show the date/time
of export, NOT the date/time of the original messages.
This makes running a collection of messages through archive2.pl a problem.
I just exported about a 1000 messages, and archive2.pl insists on putting
them all in this month's folder.
Short of hacking archive2.pl, does anybody have any thoughts on how to get
Pine to generate proper From lines?
Thanks much,
Miles Fidelman
