So why not include a copy of these headers, so that we can give you some

It is most likely the remote sites, but without a copy of the headers it is
impossible to tell.  If indeed it is not a configuration problem on your
end,, then I very much doubt there is anything that you can do on your end
to stop this, besides some very ugly SMTP hacks.
