Also, some people who receive mail that only consists of attachments
feel like puking, and hastily delete it unread.
That said, all mail is enclosed in wrappers including envelopes and
network packets. The time may come when all mail programs decode
HTML by default and all Internet mail is HTML. Then again, it may
not. Note that well: it may not.
This year, if you "manager server mailing lists" it would be quite
silly to set them up to send HTML. No doubt competent people are
experimenting with it, and have an eye on some appropriate strategy
and timing for its routine deployment; but if you need help to do
it, and are interested in production rather than experiment, forget
it and find something sensible to do.
