Can anybody tell me what the following means, what might be
causing it, and how I go about fixing the problem.

It seems that I have a group of messages that arrived about
3:10 this morning for various mailing lists and they are all
exhibiting this behaviour. Other messages currently arriving
are going out normally. But these seven or eight are
apparently "hanging" for some reason and consuming a vast
amount of system resources.
Any ideas would be greatfully appreciated.
