Greetings!
Since /var/spool/mail is the "USERS" mail box storage, it seems that
sendmail is not picking up the mail from majordomo and dumping it to the
world. Message that have been picked up by sendmail are normally stashed in
/var/spool/mqueue until they are moved "off system".
Have you created a user named "Majordomo"? (so sendmail knows to look for
"his" mail)

Subject: Mail sent to the lists
Hello,
I have searched the FAQ's and the archives and have found similar posts to
my problem and I have tried what was suggested but alas nothing has worked,
here is the problem.
I have finally been able to create new lists and setup the config files for
each list and I am able to subscribe and unsubscribe to each of them, the
problem is when I send mail to the list address it does not get mailed to
the subscribers on the list. We are using Majordomo 1.94.4 on a Linux 5.1
box with Apache 1.2.6 and Sendmail 8.9.1.
I do not receive any error messages when I send mail to the list the mail
just sits in the domains mail box under /var/spool/mail. I have tried
different alias list setups in my alias file and they all let me setup the
config file and do all the regular majordomo commands but none of them will
send mail to the subscribers.
I have checked the permissions of the files and directories and they appear
to be ok anyone out there know of an answer or a place to look? I have the
"Managing Mailing Lists" book by O'Reilly and have followed their examples
with the same result.
Thanks,
Ray Goniea
