The welcome message is sent from the list.info file.
If this file contains a digest, or a summary, it will be
shipped out.

All you need to do is to set up a little script that 
munges this file on a nightly basis and updates the info file.

I would recommend against this personally, I think that a 
reference to a web based archive would be a better solution.
