Majordomo is not a CGI script. It is a series of Perl scripts that
interact with your MTA (like sendmail) to work with Mailing Lists. SO
having access to the CGI direcotry of your web server really can't help
you set up majordomo. You would need access and permission to interface
with the MTA

When I installed Majordomo I had to run it as root so it would
work correctly (please correct me if I'm wrong

permission to interface and reconfigure with sendmail and someone
who will use the root account to start the wrapper for you. IMO, you're
better of with someone who already installed Majordomo
