The Perl that comes with 5.1 should be OK.  It's 5.2 where they shipped a
development release renamed to something else.  Why they would do this, I
don't know, but they don't seem to care much about it.  (They whined about
no fixed version of Perl being available, which makes no sense to me.)

Anyway, Perl 5.005_02 or Perl 5.004_04 should be fine.  The big difference
between them is that 5.005_02 has the new regexp functionality.
