majordomo abort

Still more progress,
I think,

now when i try to unsubscribe from one of the mail groups i get the
following error message:



MAJORDOMO ABORT (mj_majordomo)!!

chmod(33279, "/usr/lib/majordomo/lists/<listname>.new"): Operation not
permitted

all files are mode 777
all files are owned by uid - majordomo
all files are owned gy gid - daemon
majordomo is in the daemon group in the etc/group file
daemon is in the majordomo group in the ect/group file

any suggestions would be appreciated.
