I certainly hope that that is a typo. That is not a valid address. Valid
alternatives would be
Darran Swartzendruber<darrens@mertech.com>

but is not required.
or
darrens@mertech.com (Darran Swatzendruber)
But what you listed would not be a valid address in a To:, From:, Cc:,
Reply-To line.
