Aloha,

I am willing to provide a box of Macadamia nut chocolates and a bag of Kona
Coffee (Mac or plain) to a *knowledgeable* *patient* private coach who can
walk me through the setup and startup of Majordomo and Majorcool.

I am teaching myself linux and currently running RH. So the "obvious" isn't
necessarily obvious to me. I read the HOWTO for the kernel, for example and
went Hunhhhhhh?

I realize that this is rudimentary, but I read the man pages for gzip and
tar and I have unpacked the tgz files and am reading the documentation and
am confused by not understanding all the basics, like this from the install
documentation:

"1) Pick a group and user ID for Majordomo to run under. Usually this

is "majordomo.daemon". If you're this group, you can do all the

majordomo management functions (creating new lists, etc.) without
   having
to "su" to Majordomo. You can create and use a group id
   other than
"daemon" if you want, but if you do, that UID needs to
   be a "trusted"
user as far as Sendmail is concerned "

I made an account majordom and can alias majordomo but haven't a clue about
majordomo.daemon.

...and rather than barrage the list with simple questions, finding a
private knowledgeable coach seems the best way.

The nuts are roasting as I type...

With Aloha,

Widget.
