They prpbably already have majordomo installed and they just need to set
up the initial list for you. Tell them the name of the list and what you
want your password to be and they should be able to set up all of the
aliases and such for you. Even with shell access, you wouldn't be able to
do much of what needs to be done to set up the list without root access.
Make sure they send you out a list-admin-commands file so you know how to
interact with majordomo over email.
