Hi,

Maybe someone ran into this problem before could shed some light
into this.

I've had Majordomo for almost a year now (SunOS envirolment). It works
great until our mail server upgraded to Solaris a week ago! First I've
got the

".......
"-- Your request to minordomo@useng0:
"--
"-- subscribe world_eng krl@lsil.com
"--
"-- has been forwarded to the owner of the "world_eng" list for approval.
"-- This could be for any of several reasons:
"--
"-- You might have asked to subscribe to a "closed" list, where all new
".......
---"

mails for the open list.

Trying to fix this problem, I recomplied the code, tried again, got this
error message of

"-- MAJORDOMO ABORT (mj_majordomo)!!
"--
"--While running with an effective uid of 1 and an effective gid of 1 12 4 2 1, Majordomo
"--ran into the following problems:
"--Unable to write to list directory $listdir, check permissions on /lsi/home/minordomo
---"

I changed the write protection at top level

   {minordomo@useng06}:/lsi/home % chmod go+w minordomo

tried again and get this the error

"-- MAJORDOMO ABORT (mj_majordomo)!!
"--
"-- shlock: '/lsi/home/minordomo/testmd/majordomo-1.94.1' is not writable by UID 1 GID 1
---"

I changed the write protection at majordomo-1.94.1

	{minordomo@useng06}:/lsi/home/minordomo/testmd % chmod go+w majordomo-1.94.1

tried again and get back to the original "closed" list messages! So I went arround in a
full circle!

Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Lieu
