Rick Green explained:
* There is a rpm patch at
* ftp://updates.redhat.com/5.2/i386/perl-5.004m7-1.i386.rpm
*
* Update your system with
*
* rpm -Uvh perl-5.004m7-1.i386.rpm
I had stumbled on this previous to your post (actually, I think it was
from one of your earlier posts the day I joined the list) and have
patched the PERL. Thanks.
Thanks also to Rick for providing his directory/file rights for his
Majordomo setup and hiw aliases. Because of that, I was able to get my
list(s) up and running.
It didn't work right off, though. I was getting this error:
--
MAJORDOMO ABORT (mj_resend)!!
shlock: '/home/majordomo-1.94.4/lists' is not writable by UID 8 GID 12
--
User 'mail' has UID 8 and GID 12. I put user 'mail' in the 'majordom'
group and changed the lists dir to have these rights:
drwxrwxr-x 2 majordom majordom 1024 Apr 9 16:09 lists
instead of these (what Rick has):
drwxr-xr-x 2 majordom majordom 1024 Apr 9 16:09 lists
I'm not sure why I have to do that, when Rick doesn't. Maybe our mail
isn't set up quite right. It works now, though.
If anyone can give me insight into how to set up the user and groups so
that I don't have to do a 775 in the lists dir, lemme know! I don't
know if I should have 'mail' in the 'majordom' group or not, but it's
the only way I can get it to work.
Thanks in advance and thanks to Rick,
-BEP
