I want to include an individualized notice (e.g., "X-Sent-to: Fred Foo
<foo@bar.com>) in the
header of each message, letting the recipent know the address that _the
list_ used in reaching him. (Mail forwarding software can munge "To:"
lines, making them unreliable as an identification mechanism.)
Majordomo expands a single mailing list name into a list of addresses,
by means of a mailing list description file. This list is then, AFAIK,
sent to Sendmail for processing. Sendmail should, at that point, be
able to grab each individual address and stuff it into a header, but I
can't see how to make this happen.
I have tried putting the following line at the end of my .mc file:
HX-Sent-To: $u
Unfortunately, this only produces a line containing the name of the
mailing list.
I get a lot of messages that are forwarded around or sent through aliases
and it is difficult to figure out what address the list is using that ends
up with someone. I need to have each message Majordomo sends include
somewhere the e-mail address of the user it is going to?
Any help please???
I tried to send this message before I joined the list so I'm not sure if it
went to the list.
Arthur :)
