I'm in the process of migrating to a new server and
would prefer not having to re-compile and install
MD on the new server. I can do it if need be, but I
am wondering if anyone has just tar'd, ftpd and untar'd
their entire MD dir to a new system? These are the
steps I believe need to take place:
1.) Create majordomo user and group on new machine
2.) tar MD directory on old server
3.) relocate tarred file to new server
4.) Untar file
5.) Add appropriate entries in sendmail.cf (pointing
to MD aliases file in MD dir).
6.) newaliases
That shoudl pretty much do it, but am I missing
anything? I've worked with MD for 3 years
now installing ti a few times and I don't remember
files being anywhere else but within the MD root
dir and the only outside changes needed to be
configuring sendmail aliases and adding a user/group.
If I'm missing anything, I'd appreciate any advice.
