  I suspect it's a loop phenomenon.  Check to see if somehow your list got
subscribed to itself.  Closely examine the Received: headers on the
various copies of a posting.  Does it show the loop?  Do you have a rogue
user who subscribed an account to the list, then immediately set up a
.forward on that account back to the list?  The headers will tell...
