Create a temporary work directory, e.g. /usr/local/src/majordomo Move the
tar file to the work directory. Preferably you do let the directory and
tar file be owned by a non privleged user, not root.
The you unpack the tar file
tar xf FILE_NAME
A new directory with files is created. You'll find all information you
need there.
