using 'get' and 'index' with list archives

Greetings all, 

I'm trying to figure out how to make the 'get' and 'index' majordomo
commands to work with list archives.  

In other words, if a user wants to retrieve a month's past messages can
he do something like:
get <listname> <some_month_archive>

Any help in this regard would be appreciated.
