Hi,

I am attempting to install majordomo 1.94.4.

#uname -a
SunOS mailhost 5.6 Generic_105181-07 sun4m sparc SUNW,SPARCstation-20

I used the gcc compiler to compile the wrapper.
Perl is version 4. I'm not sure how to figure
out what version of 4. Sendmail is version 8.9.1.

I used the same settings for the sendmail options as were listed
in the sample.cf file that came with the software.

When I run ./wrapper config-test as a user (swe) other than
root or majordom, I get the results below. What I am stumped
about is how come it says I'm running 1.92 and why does
it complain about the "-t" option?

I do have a majordomo version 1.92 installed in another
directory: /export/home/swe/swemail.  But I can't see how
the config-test program would know about it's existence.

Any clues as to what I'm doing wrong?

Cathy

---------------- Config-test for Majordomo ----------------
------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------- Obvious things: ---------------------
------------------ environment variables ------------------
   HOME=/export/home/swe/swelists
   LOGNAME=swe
   MAJORDOMO_CF=/export/home/swe/swelists/majordomo.cf
   PATH=/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/ucb
   SHELL=/bin/sh
   TZ=US/Pacific
   USER=swe
--------------------- euid/egid checks ---------------------
   effective user = majordom (uid 102)
   effective group = daemon daemon nuucp lp tty mail uucp adm sys bin

---------------------- uid/gid checks ----------------------
   real user = majordom (uid 102)

        Non obvious things that cause headaches:

------------------------------------------------------------
Good: 'require'd /export/home/swe/swelists/majordomo.cf okay.
Good: found ctime.pl okay.
Good: found majordomo_version.pl okay.
Good: found majordomo.pl okay.
Good: found shlock.pl okay.
Good: found config_parse.pl okay.

You're running Majordomo Version 1.92.

--==> Majordomo home directory is /export/home/swe/swelists.
------------------- Include directories -------------------
        /export/home/swe/swelists

--------------------------- Home ---------------------------
Good: changedir to /export/home/swe/swelists succeeded.
Good: Created a mock lock file.
---------------------- temp directory ----------------------
Good: Created a temp file in $TMPDIR (/usr/tmp).
---------------------- list directory ----------------------
Good: list directory /export/home/majordom/lists has good permissions.
--------------------------- log ---------------------------
Good: logfile /export/home/swe/swelists/Log exists and is writeable.
------------------------- Mailers -------------------------
You have defined a mailer for delivery.
Whoa! You have given the "-t" option to sendmail. This can cause mail
loops when used for outbound delivery.
Attempting to verify that this is a valid mailer...looks okay.
You have defined a mailer for delivering administrative messages.
Attempting to verify that this is a valid mailer...looks okay.
------------------ Checking majordomo.cf ------------------
Checking to see if there are new variables that should be in
your majordomo.cf file...Nope, none that I see.

Have you configured where Majordomo is?
        $whereami is TheSphere.COM
Good: yup!
----------------------- end of tests -----------------------

1 bad thing was found.
Please fix before attempting to run Majordomo.
