Subject: Problems with Sendmail 8.9.3 /etc/aliases.db on RedHat 6.0 with Majordomo (1.94.4) aliases

I have been working on installing MajorDomo (as I have before) and all
seemed to be going well until
I started testing. I saw the following message show up in my maillog.

sendmail[6673]: NOQUEUE: SYSERR(root): Cannot open hash database
/etc/aliases.db: Invalid argument

So, I decided to get a new RPM and install. Nope. Same problem.

Then I went for the current sendmail source code. Nope. Same problem.

So, I deleted all the majordomo stuff out of the aliases file. Aliases work
OK. Placed it back in
the file. None majordomo aliases seem to work. Here the majordomo part of
/etc/aliases.

	majordomo: "|/home/majordomo/wrapper majordomo"
	majordomo-owner: me
	owner-majordomo: me

	sample: :include:/home/majordome/lists/sample
	owner-sample: sample-owner
	sample-request: "|/home/majordomo/wrapper request-answer sample"
	owner-sample-request: sample-owner
	sample-owner: me
	sample-approval: me

I get this message during a "subscribe sample" request to
sample-request@machine.

File privs are
	-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1451 Sep 22 11:13 /etc/aliases

All else looks fine.

Any ideas?

Frank
