Digest numbering question.

I'm curious about this possible abnomily...

I've noticed across several days, the digests do in fact number
correctly, however they are all Volume 01.  Anyone know what the volume
number is based on?  Is it by year, month, decade?

Thanks.  I'll be sorting and categorizing them so I can search through
them (or have list members search them) and I was curious as to how the
volume is determined.
