See, that's the problem... I have that as a *file* not a directory...
unless I misunderstood NEWLIST rather grossly, I did the following:
Release 1.94.4
NEWLIST
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
List names must be of the form "[a-z0-9_-]+" (in other words, letters,
digits, underbars, or dashes only). List may be of mixed or upper
case, but all references to the list name below must be specified
in lower case EXCEPT for the -l arguments of resend and majordomo.
To create a list:
1) Create an empty file called <list-name> in $listdir, mode 664.
2) Create a file called "<list-name>.info" in $listdir, mode 664, with
the initial introductory info for the list in it.
So I have majordomo installed in /usr/local/majordomo and
/usr/local/majordomo/lists is my $listdir, is it not? Or is
/usr/local/majordomo/lists/tux-announce my $listdir?
I'm going to attempt it by making tux-announce as a directory and follow
the instructions and add an empty file called tux-announce in the
./lists/tux-announce directory and stick the .info file in there as well,
but it'd be nice if the NEWLIST was a little clearer because AFAIK I was
following instructions which is why the "world writable directory" had me
*extremely* confused.
And no, none of the directories below /usr/local/majordomo are world
writable which had me even more confused.
