I have the following lines defined in my .config for the test list I am
running:
message_footer = /usr/lib/majordomo/lists/footer << END
subject_prefix = -[Test List]-
Can someone provide me with some information about configuring the mail
and the resender? Would also not having this interfacing correctly cause
the above not to work and ABORTs when attempting to send
unsubscribe/subscribe requests to majordomo? Like this one:
--
chown(91, 91, "/usr/lib/majordomo/lists/test1.new"): Operation not permitted
--
This was received by $whoamI_owner when $whoami_owner, who is also a
member of the list in question tried to unsubscribe. This might have
caused the problem but it seems unlikely. test1.new is not an actual file
and I am wondering why it is being created....I have never seen this in
any other lists I have seen in operation. Permissions on majordomo/ are -R
775 (is this the correct/safe setting?).
I found this in the archives but since there are no specifics and I am
slightly dumb I cannot make much of it.

Sounds like you aren't using resend to process mail to the list.
The list alias should invoke resend (via wrapper) and specify a
"list-outgoing" alias which actually includes the list of subscribers.

Does some have a specific example they can provide me? I am guessing this
is somewhere in /etc/majordomo.cf or /etc/aliases
Oh and when I do request to majordomo for help all of the $whoami_owner
calls show up as just the username and no hostname (ie mjn@ instead of
mjn@myhost.net). Is this a symptom of the above problem as well?
Thanx for the help listers....
