Subject: weirdness when use password protection

I use a password on my mailing lists. Since I have started doing that
though some strange things have been happening.

First, the subject: line is always blank even if you put something in
there in the message you send to the list.

Second, It always says Precedence: bulk below the subject line which I
really don't need people to see.

Is there anything I can do to remedy this so the subject line can be used,
even when password protected, and no headers show up in the body of the
message?

Thanks.

Neil
