bwah hah hah hah hah....
Seriously: to set up a digest, you actually set up a completely separate
list, with it's own config. file, aliases, etc., and then you have to
twiddle a little with the main list's config. file. If the list is set up
within a virtual domain, you also need all the entries in the virtual user
table.
It's not for the faint of heart. Plan to spend a few hours the first time
you do this. After you've set up the third or fourth list, with the same
configuration, it becomes pretty much a cookie-cutter operation - but even
then, every once in a while you'll get bit by a typo that takes forever to
track down.
I'd have a talk with my ISP - they'll have to invest some serious time in
this, the first time. If they don't want to do this, you might look at
some ISPs that have serious expertise in running lists. Before I migrated
to my own server, I ran a lot of lists on Software Tool and Die (the
World) at www.std.com. They have a nice package for $25/mo. that includes
a shell account, lots of dial-in time, and 2 lists (though they count a
digest as a separate list). Additional lists are $5/list - about the best
deal I've seen for majordomo support. The only drawback is that they
don't do archives - or at least they didn't when I was running my lists
there.
Sorry not to have had an easier answer.
