I am trying to configure 1.94.4 on Redhat 6 with the latest version os
sendmail and i keep getting this error when trying to unsubscribe from my
test list.
owner-majordomo receives this:
MAJORDOMO ABORT (mj_majordomo)!!
chown(91, 91, "/usr/lib/majordomo/lists/test1.new"): Operation not
permitted
and the person sending the request gets this:
>>>> unsubscribe test1
>>> Sorry, an error has occurred while processing your request
>>> The caretaker of Majordomo ( mjn@ ) has been notified
>>> of the problem.
The two things i am wondering about are:
In the lists directory two files get created that I have never seen before
on any other system running Majordomo; listname.new and L.listname. What
are these files and why am i getting operation not permitted when trying
to unsubscribe? I am guessing they are temp files of some sort and
wrapper is probably not setuid root...but can anyone explain what is
happening here?
The other thing is the line in the subscriber reply that mentions the
caretaker of the list.....why doesn't it list the entire email address for
the list maintainer. The account for the caretaker is on the machine that
contains majordomo. Here is my aliases file:
