Hi all! I've got a 80.000 users mailing list. It was first on a NT box
with EMWACS and I decided to put it on a Linux box with majordomo.
I'm using bulk-mailer in the -outgoing alias, but even thought it takes
twice the time to send all email (it isn't using the whole bandwidth as
EMWACS was).
But what worries me more is that the system is not working well. I get
this errors constantly:
$ps axu
bash: fork: Resource temporally unavailable.
$
Sendmail stops accepting connections and a lot of incoming mails get
lost.
I get thousands of files in /var/spool/mqueue and there are always more
than 30 sendmail processes running.
I can't trust that system anymore. Should I replace Sendmail with any
other MTA?
Has any one have an optimized sendmail.cf for handling large mailing
lists?
Thanks in advance.
