Actually, most "aliasing/forwarding loop broken" errors these days are not
caused by permissions being too STRICT, but rather, too LOOSE. Sendmail
8.9 (and 8.10 beta) do not by default allow lists to be accessed if
directories in their path, including the one in which the lists live, are
group-writable. This behavior can be modified by removing group write
permission (an artifact of non-POSIX mode) or using a DontBlameSendmail
option in the config.
