Subject: Problems setting up a 'bounces' list... Part2

The original post follows this update.

I tried running bounce-remind two different ways and go two similar
results and I an wondering how I might remedy the situation....

Here are the attempts to run bounce-remind:

[root@monolith majordomo]# /usr/lib/majordomo/bounce-remind
Can't read /root/lists/bounces: No such file or directory; aborting at
/usr/lib/majordomo/bounce-remind line 69.

[root@monolith majordomo]# MAJORDOMO_CF=/etc/majordomo.cf
/usr/lib/majordomo/bounce-remind
Can't read /root/lists/bounces: No such file or directory; aborting at
/usr/lib/majordomo/bounce-remind line 69.

I checked root's mail after having done this and i got messages similar to
the ones that I had received while bounce-remind was running as a cron
job(messages matching the ones that follow in my original post). Does
anyone know why this might be happening? I have not modified
bounce-remind (and it is setting MAJORDOMO_CF correctly).

Suggestions?

Subject: Problems setting up a 'bounces' list...

I just got around to setting up my bounces list and i am having some
trouble and frankly don't know if this is how it is supposed to be
working.

I followed the guidelines in managing Mailing Lists to the T, including
setting up the cron job and every morning my mail box, majordomo-owner and
owner-bounces, is full of messages, about 60 of them, like this:

<snip>

   ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
"|/usr/lib/majordomo/wrapper resend
@|/usr/lib/majordomo/lists/bounces.resend"
    (expanded from: bounces@monolith.coafes.umn.edu)

   ----- Transcript of session follows -----
open(AV, ""): No such file or directory
Stopped at /usr/lib/majordomo/resend line 59.
sh: /usr/lib/majordomo/lists/bounces.resend: Permission denied
554 "|/usr/lib/majordomo/wrapper resend
@|/usr/lib/majordomo/lists/bounces.resend" ... unknown mailer error 126

<snip>

Here is an exceprt from the maillog (this too is full of these entries):

Jan  6 23:59:00 monolith sendmail[12681]: XAA12681: Authentication-Warning:
monolith.coafes.umn.edu: majordomo set sender to nobody@monolith.coafes.umn.edu
using -f
Jan  6 23:59:00 monolith sendmail[12681]: XAB12681: clone XAA12681,
owner=owner-bounces
Jan  6 23:59:01 monolith sendmail[12683]: XAB12681: XAA12683: DSN: unknown
mailer error 126

Anyone have any ideas? Its RedHat 6.1, Majordomo 1.94.4, and the latest
version of sendmail.

thanx in advance.
