Subject: Permissions problems with exim

Well I've reached an impass. I'm running Red hat 6.1. The most
current version of exim 3.0.3. Here's the problem.

I've run the wrapper test and all comes up good. If I want the messages to
be processed I've had to set up the lists as being owned by majordomo and
the group being mail. Thus messages are sent out. If left as uid and gid
as majordomo exim freezes all the messages and Majordomo does not
distrubute messages. Here's the real trick. If I send a subscribe request
to the list it works just fine. If I unsubscribe a user from a list
Majordomo kicks back a
chown (15,91 /usr/var/lib/majordomo/owbn-net.new ) operation not
permitted.
Obviously a permissions problem. If I change the group of the file to
majordomo then it will unsubscribe users from the list but not messages
are processed. I believe they call this a rock and a hard place.

I'll try and watch this list but if anyone out there has any ideas could
you reply to:rosander@owbn.org

I would greatly apreciate any help.

BTW I did make mail a member of the majordomo group. this did not work.
