I am sure you will find two camps on the subject here too. I walk the fence
with
some of my lists configured one way, and the rest the other way. Since all
mailer
tools seem to offer "reply all" or it's equivalent, it is a matter of
subscriber
education to get them to use that button when reply_to = $SENDER. On the
other
hand, when you have a discussion that you want all comments to be public on
the
subject and make it difficult to reply privately to the sender, reply_to =
$LIST
is the logical choice. Saying one is better or correct and the other is not
as
good or wrong is like saying chocolate shakes are better than strawberry.
There
is no right answer, it is a matter of preference. Sometimes it is the owner
of
the list setting the preference, sometimes it is the majority rule of the
list
subscribers.
