We allow list-ownerz the choice for themselves but our default is Reply-To
List. Many of our lists are discussion lists and there wouldn't be much
discussion if we automatically pushed replies off-list at the first
opportunity! I disagree with the MD FAQ on this point.
I also believe this MD list ought to default to Reply-To List. I find it
frustrating to read the questions and not - sometimes - the solutions, as
that's why I zubscribe! I also think we'd sometimes arrive at best-practice
solutions, rather than Quick Fixes if more topics stayed on the list rather
than going private.
