You can do this with a much smaller application than Majordomo... the
'vacation' package does what you need it to do. It doesn't do as much
as Majordomo does, but it will probably handle your needs.
Basically, you create a user on your system. Then, you set up an email
alias for that user.. you would use 'unix-test' as the email alias.
Then, you run the vacation software for this account.
Running vacation is pretty simple.
I have a script setup to help manage 'vacation' for users. Basically,
you can create the file that you want to send to them. Then, tell
'vacation' to send that file to the person who just sent an email to
<unix-test@swst.com>.
You can also tell 'vacation' to send the original email to another
script, which you can use to gather statistics on the use of the email
address.
You, or someone who has already wrote it, would have to write the
statistics stuff, but 'vacation' will pipe it the data.
Look for 'vacation' on Freshmeat.com or do a search on your favorite
portal's search engine on "Linux and vacation".
You should find what you're looking for.
Best wishes,
Bob
