Subject: forwarding messages to different lists

I'm the owner of a few restricted/moderated lists and occasionally I get a
message that I think is inappropriate for one list but would be better suited to
another. I then send it out to the new list with the following format copied
from the old message and pasted into the body of mine which would be addressed
to "new-list-name":

From: somebody
To: "old-list-name"
Message-ID:
Date:
Subject:
Mime-Version:
Content-type:
Content-Disposition:

Body of message.

My question is what happens when I forget to change the "To:" field to reflect
the new list name? Our MUA prints out the "To:", "cc:", and "Subject:" field
for each message received, and the "To:" field showed the old list name even
though it was addressed to the new list. Which list was it delivered to? If
someone could also explain to me how it happens I would love to hear about it.
Thanks,
-brian
