I use a windows email program called Netscape and it works fine for
me. Of course, I have my client set to use text only and not HTML
when I compose messages too. I am sure that if you tell your users
to use text mode in Outlook, Eudora, etc., that their approved:
message headers will begin to work properly as well.

This is controlled in the .config file for each list. Either leave the
reply_to setting blank, or put the $SENDER token after the = sign. Here
again, is a user education item. There is a difference between "reply"
and "reply-all" buttons. On the other hand, if you have the name of the
list in the reply_to field, it won't matter which button they hit to send
a reply. Both will come back to the list address.

Hmmm, I have not experimented with this feature, as I have always been
satisfied with the default message. There are two files (three really)
that can help you out here. I am assuming that your listname.info file
is being appended to the default welcome message, right? Have you tried
creating a listname.intro file as your new-user welcome message? If this
does not help, the only other choice is to edit the majordomo file (not
majordomo.pl). Look for the welcome subroutine. "sub welcome {" will be
on a line by itself (without the quotes). You can also modify the default
help message in this file.
