If you have the 

# location of alias file
O AliasFile=/etc/aliases, /etc/mail/aliases.majordomo

or 

# location of alias file
O AliasFile=/etc/aliases
O AliasFile=/etc/mail/aliases.majordomo

in your /etc/sendmail.cf file, use

`newaliases`
