I'm getting stuck with the basics. My ISP informs me that I should log
into my majordomo
account via Telnet with a supplied login/pw. No mention of what host I
should attempt to log into (I've tried the only two variations I know -
ispdomain.com and mydomain.com, both return invalid login).
The email I've received from them has been a little confusing. First they
tell me the list is completely set up and ready to go, then they say I need
to log in to Telnet to adminster the account.

The FAQ has a lot of good information, but doesn't provide a lot of help for
someone who is new to majordomo. Do I need to download the majordomo
software and install it on my machine to get things going? It's a dumb
question, but after reading through the faq I have no idea how to get the
most basic functions going.

Sending an email to listname@mydomain.com generates this response from
Majordomo (in the subject):

BOUNCE gartra@georgiaoffroad.com: Admin request /^subject:\s*subscribe\b/i
Admin request of type /\bsubscribe\b/i at line 1

Is this a good thing? Searching the faq/readme/archives didn't reveal
anything specific to my situation (or if it does the wording is still a bit
cryptic for me right now).

Thank you greatly for your assistance (if there isn't one out there already,
I'd love to put together a beginner's guide to majordomo once I get things
figured out).
