I have concern about your majordomo alias not pointing to majordom.
If the alias just expands to itself, it is not really doing anything.
Have you read list-owner-info yet? It has additional information
about commands that majordomo recognizes in order to manage your lists
remotely.
I cannot remember, what is your OS? I see from some of the messages
you posted that your majordomo is version 1.94.4. Does your DNS,
/etc/hosts file, and sendmail.cw recognize your majordomo server as
neteye.neu-alpine.com? Maybe your messages are not getting the chance
to be processed by majordomo. Does the /var/log/maillog file show any
activity related to "test"? What about /usr/local/majordomo/Log?
Does majordomo properly handle subscribe and unsubscribe requests for
the test list?
Is your neteye machine behind a firewall? Do you have mail piled up
in the /var/spool/mqueue directory waiting to get out? If you use
neteye as your outgoing mail host, does mail get delivered? I guess
what I am asking is, does your sendmail on the neteye machine work
without trying to use majordomo?
We must crawl before we can walk, and walk before we can run. I would
not worry about adding more lists, or the aliases that run them, until
we can be sure your test list is working. Can you send commands in
email to majordomo and get replies back from majordomo? Can you add
and remove users from your test list using email? Can you send email
to the test list for distribution? OK, now we can add more lists.
The test.config file is self documented. This is what resend uses to
control the functionality of your list. If the list is open, closed,
moderated, discussion, announcement, etc. How do you want test list
to behave? Should anyone in the company be allowed to write to this
address? Should only one (or a few) person be allowed to send it email?
Can anyone subscribe and unsubscribe themselves, or will this be
managed by some person or group? If you have a specific question about
test.config feel free to ask it here.
