After a year or more off the list, it's back to the pool of knowledge
for me!
The details: MD 1.94.5 on a Linux box of unknown flavor (possibly
slackware 7.0.0, can't tell for sure), perl 5.6.0
The problem: the system is sending out one digest per post to a list
I run called tft. It used to work fine, but the host has undergone
some changes lately and now I've got this problem.
The aliases seem fine:
tft: "|/usr/local/majordomo/wrapper resend -l tft tft-outgoing"
tft-outgoing: tft-outbound, tft-archive, tft-digestify
## Archive
tft-archive: "|/usr/local/majordomo/wrapper archive2.pl -m -a -f /usr/local/majo
rdomo/lists/tft.archive"
# Digest
tft-digestify: "|/usr/local/majordomo/wrapper digest -r -C -l tft-digest tft-dig
est-outgoing"
tft-digest: tft
tft-digest-outgoing: "|/usr/local/bin/bulk_mailer -maxdomains 1 tft-owner@braini
ac.com /usr/local/majordomo/lists/tft-digest"
The settings in tft-digest.config looks good:
digest_issue = 1
digest_maxdays = 3
digest_maxlines = 25000
digest_volume = 2
Even the smallest posts generate a new digest!
When the host machine was having problems, the /usr/local/majordomo hierarchy
was restored from backup a number of times. It finally got moved from the
unstable SCSI drives to an IDE drive, and was restored one last time. When
this happening, the restoration was giving incorrect permissions to the
directories in the majordomo hierarchy, and the digest wasn't working
at all for a while! I've got it back to the point where it now sends
messages, but one per post.
Any clues???
PS: while I was writing this, I may have found the problem. There were a
couple of old files in the work directory:
(36) root@endless:/usr/local/majordomo/digest-work/tft-digest# ls -l
total 8
-rw-rw---- 1 majordom daemon 1514 May 25 08:50 001
-rw-rw---- 1 majordom daemon 2297 May 26 22:25 005
Has anyone seen this cause trouble?
Many thanks in advance for the help!
