you configured your mailer ("MTA" eg. Sendmail) first.
Acer.home.local is an invalid domain name.
You said you are unable to get mail distributed when
"sent over the net". How does mail reach the list
in the first place ? You are running a dial up,
but how does queued mail from your ISP reach the list ?
