If we could see those aliases, it would be easier to figure out what you

OK, an OPEN list allows anyone to send to it.  Are you going to trust the
general public not to spam your list members?  People have addresses, and
lists (groups) have addresses.  All majordomo understands or cares about
are addresses.

If anyone can post to an open list, they will not see what was posted 
unless they are also subscribed to the list.  If they NEED to see the
postings, they must be subscribed.

I think you just changed the rules here.  Are you talking about a list 
that is not the widgets list, or a subscriber of the widgets list?

to how creative the solution can be.
