Yes, When I say history file, I am referring to the archive. The messages sent
with ASCII with the exception of a PDF attachment ....

Perhaps the footer is there, but invisible to the recipient. Are you calling
the archive a history file? Is the message sent to the list address in pure
ASCII text? Majordomo does have it's limits.
