Hello:

I have successfully installed and configured majordomo twice over the
past year but I am currently having problems making majordomo work
correctly after a system rebuild.

I have majordomo working for administrative tasks such as subscribing
and other commands. However, messages sent to a list address seem to
just disappear. They are saved in the archive but never make it to the
list recipients.

There are never any entries in the maillog that show the
message being sent to the list subscribers. No error messages are sent
back to majordomo-owner.

I am using the same alias file that I was using on my old system that
was working very well. The old system was using Majordomo 1.94.4 and
RedHat Linux 5.2.  The
new install is using Majordomo 1.94.5 and RedHat Linux 6.1. I am using
sendmail 8.9.3.

Here is a piece of /etc/alias

sps-officers:       "|/usr/local/majordomo/wrapper resend -l
sps-officers sps-officers-list"
sps-officers-list:
:include:/usr/local/majordomo/lists/sps-officers,
        "|/usr/local/majordomo/wrapper archive2.pl -a -M
        -f /usr/local/mail/archives/sps-officers.archive"
owner-sps-officers:         harper
sps-officers-owner:         harper
owner-sps-officers-list: harper
sps-officers-request:    "|/usr/local/majordomo/wrapper request-answer
sps-officers"
sps-officers-approval:   harper

In searching through the archives I see many questions like this one,
but most of the replies concern making sure that the lists directory
tree has no group writable bits set. I think that is taken care of...

ls -l of /usr/local/
<snip>
lrwxrwxrwx   1 majordom daemon         17 Oct 19 16:11 majordomo ->
majordomo-1.94.5//
drwxr-x--x   6 majordom daemon       4096 Oct 22 22:23 majordomo-1.94.5/

ls -l of /usr/local/majordomo-1.94.5/
<snip>
drwxr-x---   2 majordom daemon       4096 Oct 24 00:25 lists/
<snip>
-rwsr-xr-x   1 root     daemon      14890 Oct 19 16:03 wrapper*

ls -l of /usr/local/majordomo-1.94.5/lists/

-rw-r-----   1 majordom daemon         20 Oct 24 00:11 sps-officers
-rw-rw----   1 majordom daemon      16195 Jan  5  2000
sps-officers.config
-rw-r-----   1 majordom daemon        341 Jan  5  2000 sps-officers.info
-rw-r-----   1 majordom daemon        152 Aug 21 10:25 sps-officers.old

Any suggestions ??

Regards,

Doug Harper
