I think you mean permissions where you said preferences, but
either way, majordomo will run with the permissions listed in the
FAQ (IF your sendmail is old, OR you disable some/most of sendmail
security). The key to majordomo is understanding sendmail. Just
another reference for situational awareness.
A section should be appended to the FAQ to cover the newer sendmail
security issues, but 70% of the discussions here did not start with
people reading the FAQ anyway. :(
