/var/log/maillog or /var/log/mail/mail.log should have definitive
answers.  If you see a permission denied, then it's a permissions
problem.  It could also be a smrsh problem (just found out tonight on a
new install that using bulk mailer requires you to put a link in
/etc/smrsh for it).  Any program that sendmail calls from the aliases
file has to have a link in there.  Need more info before the guesses get
too far out of reality.
