you cannot do your telnet trick as administor or anything else...
you can send mail mailly with telnet if you specify all the required header info
where is the reset of yoru majordomor config items/files ??
- did you put ns1 into /etc/sendmail.cw ?? ( raq7 is in it to ?? )
