Hi,
Has anybody had experience of altering the

$MAX_TOTAL_HEADER_LENGTH = 1024

parameter in majordomo.cf ?

The reason for doing this would be to allow people to send to a list and to
a number of other mailnames on the same To: line, (using Outlook client but
I'm not sure this is relevant).
As I understand it, the above setting causes mailings to the list plus about
20 extra addresses to fail, as together they exceed 1024 chars..

yes, it does seem rather an excessive response to a problem that is simply
solved by saying don't do this, but I thought I'd ask...

replies of "don't do it" or "you haven't understood how majord works"
welcomed!
I've looked in the FAQ btw ;)

We are currently in the process (early days) of replacing a bespoke front
end to 1-93.3 with another custom FE to 1-94.5 (new set-up will be on
Solaris8).

Cheers,
