For what it's worth, using a high-end server (750mHz Athlons, 256
megabytes, logging to a different physical drive), we still had trouble
with lists of 10,000 or more, both with and without bulk_mailer.  The
biggest problem appears to be that when the list is that big the
temporary and permanent undeliverables and bounces will cripple the
system.

We've done better with a commercial product we bought, but even it had
problems.  At least it has a throttle; throttling Sendmail down to only
a hundred addresses or so a minute helps somewhat.

Does anyone have better results or suggestions?
